My name is Ken, I am a divorced father of 3 boys, Kyle 18, Ryan 15 and Brady 9. I currently live in Dalton, Massachusetts. I live there with my girlfriend, Kelli and her daughter Sierra 16.
My time in public safety began in July of 1988 when I began volunteering in my home town of Richmond, Massachusetts. While in Richmond I obtained my certification as an emergency medical technician in February of 1998. I worked with Richmond until moving to Adams, Massachusetts in 1991.
Over the years from 1991 until 2000 I worked for a few private ambulance services in Massachusetts. I worked in rural communities and in one of the busiest systems in Massachusetts, Springfield. The city of Springfield averages around 100,000 calls for emergency medical services each year. I worked for the second busiest emergency trauma center in Massachusetts. Baystate Medical Center has a emergency room which can see over 3000 patients in a day.
In April of 2000 I left the private ambulance services for a career in the fire service. I still worked in the private ambulance services part time until 2015. My career remained in the Public Safety Profession as Paramedic and Firefighter. By July of 2008 I was promoted to a Training Officer and a Lieutenant with in my department. This was my position for approximately 2 years until returning to a line position in a outlying engine company.
Currently I still work as a Lieutenant on my career fire department. I also volunteer in my current home town as a Lieutenant / Firefighter and emergency medical technician, since my home town department does not operate at the paramedic level.
